Book Club Kits Make it Easy to Share Great Reads
Grand Prairie Libraries debut new Book Club Kits
Over the years, avid readers have used books and audiobooks from the Grand Prairie Libraries to participate in their local book club. Now, the Libraries make it even easier for book clubs to share great titles by checking out our new Book Club Kits.
Starting February 3, the Libraries will debut 10 Book Club Kits, divided between the Main and Warmack Libraries. Book Club Kits contain ten copies of a popular books and a discussion guide, in a handy bag. There will be both fiction and non-fiction selections.
Kits will check out for 6 weeks, to a single library cardholder who must be an adult out of the library's 30-day introductory period. Only one book kit may be checked out at a time. The person checking out the kit is responsible for the return of all books in the kit.
Check out kits for the following titles:
- Brain on Fire, by Susan Cahalan
- Room, by Emma Donoghue
- The Nightingale, by Kristin Hannah
- An American Marriage, by Tayari Jones
- Orange is the New Black, by Piper Kerman
- Devil in the White City, by Erik Larson
- Big Little Lies, by Liane Moriarty
- Everything I Never Told You, by Celeste Ng
- The Glass Castle, by Jeannette Walls
- The Martian, by Andy Weir
You may place a hold on a kit through the library's catalog at gptx.org/library or by phone at 972-237-5700. Please be aware that kits must be picked up at a library, and not (due to their size) at the Lake Parks Book Locker. Kits must be returned during library hours to a circulation desk. They cannot be returned through a book drop, or to the Book Locker or Epic Reads kiosk.
Large print, ebook and audiobook versions are available individually for some titles; check our webpage.
