Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, Zero Degrees, Boiling King Crab and Blaze Scratch Pizza to open this year at Epic West...

Michael’s, Ulta Beauty, Burlington, Conn’s Home Plus, Petco, Burkes Outlet, HomeGoods, Ross Dress for Less are now open at Epic West, just west of SH 161 between Warrior and Mayfield.

Living Spaces Furniture, a furniture and home décor store based in California, is now open in 175,000 square feet of the former Restoration Hardware distribution center on SH 161. The rest of the space will be used for the store’s fulfillment center. Living Spaces features the Magnolia Home furniture line among others.


Main Event is under construction in Epic West just south of Warrior, and is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2020. This destination center will feature bowling, food, an arcade, laser tag, rock climbing, gravity ropes, billiards, mini golf, karaoke and virtual reality games.

Epic Waters Indoor Water Park opened its outdoor wave pool this summer.


Zero Degrees and Olive Garden are now open at Epic West, just west of SH 161 between Warrior and Mayfield.

Salata Salad Kitchen at Epic West will open September 2019.  In same shopping center, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, Raising Cane’s, Boiling King Crab, Genghis Grill, Blaze Scratch Pizza and First Watch, a daytime café serving breakfast will open by early 2020.

A Taco Bell will open at Epic East on SH 161 just north of Mayfield.  Already open on the east side of SH 161 are Jason’s Deli, El Pollo Loco, Firehouse Subs and Panda Express.

Construction on a Wendy’s will be underway soon and Chick-fil-A is under construction and expected to open in late fall 2019 east of SH 161 between Pioneer Parkway and Arkansas in front of Walmart. Construction on a Courtyard by Marriott is also underway south of Walmart.

Andy’s Frozen Custard is open on Carrier Parkway south of Interstate 20 near R Taco and Starbucks.

FireHouse Gastro Park is open in the historic Fire Station No. 1 on Main Street. Menu items include Nashville hot chicken, smoke house meats and artisanal burgers.

Zavala’s Barbecue is open on Saturdays for barbecue and Tuesday-Friday, 6-11 a.m. for coffee and breakfast tacos at 421 Main Street.

The city is collaborating with the founder of Chili’s restaurants to open a new restaurant in our Epic Central Park, called Loop 9, that will feature BBQ, burgers, salads and sandwiches.  And pickle ball courts, so you can play then stay to eat. 


In addition to all the retail and restaurant development on 161, we also have a number of high-end apartments, townhomes and garden homes being built along I-20 and on the Estes Peninsula of Lake Joe Pool

AirBus Helicoptor and Helisim are building a $40 million North American Training Center by the Grand Prairie Airport to train 1,500 pilots and maintenance personnel a year, which they expect to double within a year. 

Auto parts maker Flex-n-Gate is operational now in its 430,000-square-foot facility on I-20 making parts for GM, with $140 million in manufacturing equipment and 600 new employees.

Coca-Cola awarded the Grand Prairie Dasani Water Plant its new SmartWater production line, and is investing $33 million in a 25,000-square-foot expansion.
