New Restaurants in Downtown

Three new restaurants are serving up food in Downtown Grand Prairie!
Post Date:02/19/2019 11:59 AM

Zavala’s Barbecue

421 W. Main St.

Zavala’s Barbecue may not be “new” to downtown, but it's brick and motor is! Zavala’s started as a pop-up stand in 2018 and quickly gained popularity. People often wait in line just to get some of the award-winning ribs, brisket, sausage and more! Within a few months, they began seeking a place to expand their business and purchased Barbara’s Cake & Cookie Boutique. After a few months of renovations, they are back in business.

You can only catch them from 11 a.m. – “no mas” (sold out) on Saturdays!
Pro tip: Get there early!

FireHouse Gastro Park

321 W. Main St.

(Coming April 26, 2019)

With the claim “hipsters and families alike will feel at home,” FireHouse Gastro Park will have a diverse and unique feel in downtown. The owners are bringing some of their California flavors to Texas in the historic Fire House Station 1. Renovations began in the fall, and the restaurant plans to be open by Main Street Fest (April 26-April 28). The new space will feature indoor and outdoor dining, family-friendly green-space, a Tweed-fueled coffee shop, a smokehouse, and diverse delectables including Nashville hot chicken, artisan burgers and LA’s own MAMA’S MEDICINE cocktails.

If you can’t wait until April to try their foods and drinks, you can find them over at Epic Eats at The Epic, 2960 Epic Place.
