Scholarship Applications Now Open

High school seniors may now apply for a $500 scholarship made possible in part by the Friends of the Grand Prairie Library

In partnership with the Friends of the Grand Prairie Library, the Grand Prairie Public Library System will hold a scholarship competition for high school seniors planning to attend college in the fall of 2019. The winner will be awarded $500 toward their college tuition.
Applications are open through March 31, 2019. The application and more information may be accessed by visiting gptx.org/scholarship.
In order to qualify, students must
- be a Grand Prairie resident and a graduating high school senior
- plan to enroll in a college or university as a freshman in the fall of 2019
- have an active Grand Prairie Library Card (available online or at any library location)
- have volunteered a minimum of 10 hours at a Grand Prairie Library location between June 1, 2018 and March 31, 2019 (more about volunteering)
The scholarship application will include a personal statement, and an essay on the topic of the library’s role in local and global communities.
