Fats, oils and grease and food scraps don’t mix well with water. When flushed, these materials can build up and block the entire sewer pipeline and cause raw sewage overflows into your home, lawns, streets, parks and rivers which creates health risks, destroys the environment, and costs YOU money.
The Environmental Collection Center at 6400 Bridge St. in Fort Worth will accept waste oil and other household hazardous waste at no charge to Grand Prairie residents (bring proof or residency) Thursdays and Fridays, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., or Saturday at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 817-392-1234 for more details.
Don’t feel like driving to Fort Worth? Grand Prairie residents may register for the next Household Hazardous Waste collection event by calling The City of Grand Prairie Public Health and Environmental Quality Department at (972) 237-8055 or by registering online. Collection events are held in Grand Prairie (bring proof of residency).
