Grand Prairie Gateway Masterplan

The Grand Prairie City Council hired site master planners and architects with Dallas-based OMNIPLAN to establish a vision for the IH-30/Belt Line Road Corridor, as part of the City’s agreement to construct the extension of Palace Parkway through the intersection’s northeast corner to the IH-30 frontage road.

The resulting Gateway at Grand Prairie Masterplan envisions an urban, pedestrian-friendly plan for all four corners of this intersection—within a new development district. OMNIPLAN designed the entire corridor with a focus on place making, plazas, dense mixed-use, active streets—and as being “a place to entertain.” And it’s intended to help foster public-private partnerships between existing land owners, developers and the City of Grand Prairie.
