5 O’Clock Memorial Fund

The 5 O’Clock Memorial Fund was established by Suzette and Gary LaGray to provide a better future for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) positive cats.

The LaGrays cutting ribbon on the updated penthouses at Grand Prairie Animal Shelter

On December 5, 2021, Grand Prairie Animal Services unveiled their new upgraded penthouses that were designed and donated by the LaGrays. The penthouses were donated in honor of their two cats, "Sadie" and "5 O’Clock," who were diagnosed with autoimmune diseases.

FIV and FeLV are autoimmune diseases found only in cats. Felines that are FIV+ are can live normal, healthy lives with the virus. Cats with FeLV may have shortened lifespans, but still have the potential to be loving pets. Provided with vet care and a kind-hearted family, cats with either virus can have a chance at their best quality of life with indoor homes.

Ways to Help

Consider adoption of one of these special FIV+ pets or a donation to the 5 O’Clock Memorial Fund to help provide Grand Prairie Animal Services with the resources to care for cats with these specific needs.

If you would like to contribute to this fund, donations can be made online or in person at the shelter.
