Libraries

HumanKIND

Programs at the Libraries feature discussions with people of diverse backgrounds to enable greater understanding and acceptance of similarities and differences. Call the Grand Prairie Library at 972-237-5700 for more information.

Citizenship Classes

ESL Library Classes

Badges and Books

A one-day special event that shows off police equipment in the library parking lot, and lets kids hear their local police officers read them a book.

Cyclin’ with the Mayor

Parks, Arts, and Recreation

DEFY Program

Partnership with US Navy to offer local children positive experiences that include Mentorship, Drug Education, Leadership training and field trips.

Dalworth’s Next Step Program

This program takes teens from the community and prepares them to take the next step in life by offering resume help, mock interview, college visits, etc. For more information, contact Dalworth Recreation Center at 972-237-4760.

Dalworth’s Holiday Toy Drive

This event held annually the Saturday before Christmas Day in which staff secures donations from different individuals, churches and organizations to offer free toys to children in the community. For more information, contact Dalworth Recreation Center at 972-237-4760.

Tony Shotwell & Dalworth Back to School Health Fair

This annual event is held the Saturday before school starts at both recreation centers. Local vendors offer free health screenings and information as well as donations of backpacks and school supplies are handed out to children of the community.
