What can you do from your home computer? How about join a book club, read our library newsletter, research a medical condition, or find a repair manual? See all of our online resources, available 24 hours a day.
Some databases must be used in the library, while others will require a login and password, or your library card number. Call 972-237-5701 for the information. No card? Grand Prairie library cards are free and easy to get. Just stop by the Circulation Desk at any of our locations to fill out an application. We ask to see your driver's license (or state identification card). Once you have a card, you enjoy free checkout privileges, as well as access to many online tools.
Grand Prairie Public Library System patrons can now borrow materials from library collections all across Texas by using a special free library card called the TexShare card .

Novelist NoveList is a fiction database that provides subject heading access, reviews, annotations, and much more for over 125,000 fiction titles. It also includes other content of interest to fiction readers, such as Author Read-alikes, What We’re Reading, Book Discussion Guides, BookTalks, and Annotated Book Lists. Patrons searching for a book not owned by the Grand Prairie Library System may request an Inter-Library Loan. A Grand Prairie reference librarian will take the request, and attempt to borrow the book from another library. Requests typically take 2-4 weeks to fill.
