The Summer Reading Challenge starts June 2. All Grand Prairie Libraries offer a summer reading program for any age - child, teen, or adult. Read throughout the summer for your chance to win coupon and gift card prizes.
Registration begins June 2, and continues through the summer. Here is the Children's Summer Reading Challenge brochure.

The Betty Warmack Branch Library holds two storytime sessions each Wednesday. Join us at 10:00 OR 10:45 a.m. for stories. Storytime runs 4 weeks with a break between sessions.
There will not be a storytime May 14, 21 or 28, while we prepare for the Summer Reading Challenge.
Please be on time, as we have limited space, and thank you so much for your great attendance! We regret that we might have to limit attendance at a storytime, due to safety regulations.

Pick up a schedule at the Library (for licensing reasons, we can't reveal titles online).
Mad Science dazzles kids with wacky humor and amazing science feats and tricks.

Ringling Bros. Clowns will visit the Library
as part of their "Reading with Ringling Bros" summer program for kids. When kids join the library's Summer Reading Challenge, they can earn a FREE Ringling Bros. circus ticket as they read.

Willy Welch is a multi-faceted children's entertainer best know for his song and book "Playing Right Field." He's also appeared at Bass Hall, Casa Manana, and Circle Theater.

Shirley Smith Duke
A former teacher of science, English and ESL, Shirley now writes for children of all ages. No Bows! is her first picture book, a story for toddlers about a little girl with her own ideas about what she wants.
Monday, July 7 at 1 pm
Wildlife on the Move brings animal ambasaddors to the Library.
This summer's show highlights "the unhuggables": the creepy, the crawly, and the ugly.
Monday, July 14 at 1 pm
Sandy Shrout & Friends return to the Library to tell her latest story, How The Dragon Got His Fire.

Teen programs

The Summer Reading Challenge begins June 2 and continues until July 27. Earn a shot at a weekly or Grand Prize by picking up a reading log at the Circulation Desk, and having it stamped as you finish books. When you turn in your log after 8 hours of reading or listening to audiobooks, your log become your entry form.
