Grand Prairie Drivers Warned to Buckle Up or Pay Up
Click It or Ticket Safety Belt Enforcement Underway
Posted Date: 5/14/2014

Grand Prairie Police Department in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is participating in the state wide Click It or Ticket campaign May 19-June 1, 2014. Officers will be out looking for drivers, passengers and children not using seatbelts and child safety seats. Texas law requires drivers and all passengers in a vehicle to be secured by a safety belt. Yes, that means unbuckled adult passengers in the back seat now can get tickets, too. Children younger than 8 years old must be in a child safety seat or booster seat unless they are taller than 4 feet 9 inches.
