Main Library updates parking lot, building
Posted Date: 1/16/2014

The Grand Prairie Main Library, 901 Conover Drive, is continuing a remodeling project that includes the entire parking lot and sections of the interior spaces.

The parking lot is being completely replaced. The project, which may last through March, will eventually include new medians, landscaping and ramps. At times, certain sections of the lot will be unavailable. Additional parking is available in the next door Veterans Park Event Center. Visitors are asked to be cautious while parking, and to keep an eye out for havy machinery.

Construction inside the Main Library will probably begin in April, with work on the lights, ceiling and carpets. We hope to maintain public computer use throughout the process. At times, certain areas of the library may be unavailable to the public. When safely possible, staff members will be able to retrieve books and items for library users.

There may be times when the after-hours book drop at the Main Library is not available. You may call 972-237-5700 during Main Library hours to renew items by phone. Renew online through our library catalog. You may also turn in items to our two branches, the Warmack Branch (south Grand Prairie) or the Shotwell Branch (northeast Grand Prairie.

Throughout these projects, we will do our best to keep the Main Library open and serving the public. When necessary, certain areas or services may be temporarily unavailable.
