Legends and Legacies at Uptown Theater

Legend Flaco Jiménez and Grammy award-winning Max Baca & Los Texmaniacs will join together at Uptown Theater, 120 E. Main St., on Friday, Sept. 13. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m., and tickets will range from $20-$25. 

Leonardo “Flaco” Jiménez, a five-time Grammy award-winning accordionist, is renowned as the king of conjunto music. His musical style was inspired by German, Polish, Czech, Mexican and Texan musical cultures. Over the years, he has expanded to include influences from country and western, rock and jazz music. Jiménez’s distinctive style has helped him expand the genre from his hometown of San Antonio to the rest of the United States and has won him numerous prestigious awards and praise.  

Renowned Baja Sexto player Max Baca formed the Los Texmaniacs in the late 1990s, and the group has preformed its unique mix of traditional and contemporary musical styles together ever since. The Grammy award-winning Max Baca & Los Texmaniacs keep their tracks fresh and exciting with elements of rock, blues and jazz.

The Uptown Theater features popular artists, rocking music, a reasonable price at a fabulous venue. Performers include Grammy award-winning local, regional and national touring artists who engage audiences in special musical experiences each time they play.
