GRAND PRAIRIE—Dogs at Grand Prairie’s Prairie Paws Animal Shelter, 2222 W. Warrior Trail, have a better place to play and meet their new owners thanks to hard working Triumph Aerostructures-Vought Aircraft Division employees. A group of volunteers from Triumph Vought’s Local UAW 848 and the company’s maintenance staff installed metal shade, and seating structures in the outdoor exercise area behind the shelter, as well as crushed aggregate pathways in the outdoor dog play areas. Triumph Vought donated $5,000 for the project, and employees constructed five high quality metal frames for the shade structures with corrugated metal roofs and redwood benches.

"Every year we do a community project in Grand Prairie, even though our plant sits in Dallas," said Jayson Gambrell from Triumph Vought. "Our community projects double as a team building event."

The city of Grand Prairie’s Prairie Paws Adoption Center is open Tuesday-Saturday for pet adoptions. For more information about the shelter, visit www.gptx.org/paws or call 972-237-8575.
