Join the Get Fit Grand Prairie wellness initiative for a spring kickoff event featuring the Get Fit GP 5K Run/Walk and "Chase the Chiefs" 1-Mile Fun Run on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Farmers Market in downtown Grand Prairie. Kids of all ages can chase Grand Prairie Police Chief Steve Dye and Fire Chief Robert Fite during the 1-mile fun run or can participate in the 5K, which includes a trip through Turner Park.
Both events start and end at Grand Prairie Farmers Market, 120 W. Main St., where everyone is welcome to browse the free Get Fit GP health fair and experience Farmers Market opening day festivities – the perfect place to learn about healthy meal alternatives during National Nutrition Month.
Proceeds from the run events will go toward health related programs for youth of Grand Prairie ISD, Parks, Arts and Recreation, and the YMCA.
$15/person before March 23, 2014
$10/person for team/family group of 10 or more
