GRAND PRAIRIE—Dogs at Grand Prairie’s Prairie Paws Animal Shelter, 2222 W. Warrior Trail, will have a better place to play and meet their new owners thanks to hard working Triumph Aerostructures-Vought Aircraft Division employees. On March 13-14, nine volunteers from Triumph Vought’s Local UAW 848 and the company’s maintenance staff installed metal shade, and seating structures in the outdoor exercise area behind the shelter. Triumph Vought donated $5,000 for the project and employees constructed five high quality metal frames for the shade structures with corrugated metal roofs and redwood benches.

On Friday, March 22, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., executive staff from Triumph Vought will install crushed aggregate pathways in the outdoor dog play areas, which become mud pits after a rain.

"Every year we do a community project in Grand Prairie, even though our plant sits in Dallas," said Jayson Gambrell from Triumph Vought. "Our community projects double as a team building event."

The city of Grand Prairie’s Prairie Paws Adoption Center is open Tuesday-Saturday for pet adoptions. For more information about the shelter, visit www.gptx.org/paws or call 972-237-8575.
