Freading eBooks

The Grand Prairie Libraries now offer eBooks through Freading. Visit our Freading page to sign up and start browsing for eBooks. More than 20,000 eBooks available to mulitple readers simultaneously - no waiting for holds! Apps available for your iPod or Android device.

Zinio Digital Magazines

Access digital editions of more than 60 magazines through Zinio.

Freegal Music

Freegal is a free music downloading service providing popular MP3 music for our library cardholders. Hundreds of thousands of songs in dozens of genres - get started today! Apps available for your iPod, iPhone or Android.

Britannica Smartmath SmartMath makes math practice fun for kids K-8. A colorful, easy-to-use interface encourages and motivates kids to improve. Quizzes range from simple numbers, to geometry, algebra, and probability.

World Vital Records is a genealogy portal for newspaper, census, passenger and immigration, death and burial record, and much more. Call for login info.

Ancestry

Ancestry.com is a popular genealogy database. This database must be used at one of the Libraries - ask a Reference Librarian for assistance.

Encyclopedia Britannica

Encyclopaedia Britannica: this world-renowned reference source is now available to our patrons online. The Encyclopaedia Britannica features other tools as well, including a dictionary, atlas, year in review, and directory of quotations.

Novelist

Novelist is a fiction database that provides subject heading access, reviews, annotations, and much more for over 125,000 fiction titles. It also includes other content of interest to fiction readers, such as Author Read-alikes, What We’re Reading, Book Discussion Guides, BookTalks, and Annotated Book Lists. NoveList allows readers to use a favorite author or title as a template to locate other authors and titles of interest. This link will take you to the Novelist page, with login.
