A History of Grand Prairie—Pre 1840s-2009 is a comprehensive look at Grand Prairie from the time nomadic tribes lived on this land near the Trinity River until the beginning of the 21st century. Author Kathy A. Goolsby combed through city records and newspaper archives to document the rich history of a city that evolved from an agricultural community to the 15th largest city in Texas.
The book features a century’s worth of photos showing the progression of downtown buildings and snapshots of Grand Prairie residents throughout the years.
