Posted Date: 11/11/2013

Cozy up this Thanksgiving week with a movie from Grand Prairie Library's collection, which just recently added dozens of new titles. In honor of the recent Third Annual Lois Weber Film Festival, the Library has added dozens more movies and documentaries to its collection of historical and contemporary films by women directors.

These dvds are available for a two-week checkout period to anyone with a Grand Prairie library card. Library cards are free.

The new additions to the collection include dramas, comedies, and thought-provoking documentaries.

Some highlights from the new additions:

  • Black Rock, a horror/thriller by Katie Aselton.
  • The Lesser Blessed, directed by Anita Doron and starring Benjamin Bratt.
  • Detropia, a documentary on the city of Detroit and its troubles, directed by Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady.
