Uptown Theater presents Songs of David Friedman Oct. 3-5

Planning your weekend? Grand Prairie's historic Uptown Theater, 120 E. Main St., will host David Friedman's Listen to My Heart Oct. 3-5, 2013. Songs of the renowned composter and songwriter David Friedman will be performed by a master cast of Lulu Picart, Fred Ross, Heather Cleveland Krueger, Alison Burns and Craig Sculli. The performances will begin at 8 p.m. Oct. 3-5, and there will be an additional matinee performance at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 5.

Friedman's music takes audience members on a journey through hopes, desires and aspirations. Friedman’s mastery of music makes this journey thrilling, unexpected and exhilarating for all members of the audience.

David Friedman is best known for his composition of numerous Broadway productions, such as Grease, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Song and Dance. He has also written, composed and produced music for several Disney films, including Pocahontas, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast. Friedman has also written hundreds of songs for singing sensations as varied as Diana Ross, Barry Manilow, Kathie Lee Gifford and Jason Alexander.

The Uptown Theater features popular artists, rocking music and a reasonable price at a fabulous venue. Performers include Grammy award-winning local, regional and national touring artists who engage audiences in special musical experiences each time they play.
