Texas Familt Musicals 2013 summer season is coming to a close with a performance of the smash off-Broadway hit The Marvelous Wonderettes, at the Uptown Theater, 120 E. Main St., in Grand Prairie, with two performances on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and one performance Saunday, Aug. 25 at 2:30 p.m.
Taking place at the 1958 Springfield High prom, the Wonderettes have high hopes of making it big. The musical features more than 20 classic hits from the '50s and '60s such as Lollipop, Dream Lover and Stupid Cupid. This off-Broadway hit took New York by storm and is coming to Grand Prairie to do the same.
