The Grand Prairie Police Department offers a Teen Police Academy one week each summer for Middle School kids ages 13-14 (7th and 8th graders) who may be interested in learning more about a career in law enforcement and how the police department functions.
The Teen Police Academy meets from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 17-21, 2013, at the Charles V. England Public Safety Training Center, 310 College St.
Topics Covered
Some of the topics to be covered in the academy include:
- History of Law Enforcement
- Patrol Procedures
- Crime Scene Investigation
- K-9 and SWAT
Participants will be able to put what they learn into action by working a mock crime scene and using their new skills and knowledge to solve the crime.

Please complete the application and return to the School Resource Officer at the school that the child attends.
