This free programs is offered in conjunction with the traveling display Treasures of Tutankhamen, at the Main Library from June 1 through 29. Tut, the legendary boy king of Egypt, appeals to everyone’s childhood fascination with royal tombs, buried treasures, and mummies. The Treasures of Tutankhamun promotes a thoughtful comparison of ancient and modern customs concerning death and the afterlife—not to mention discussions of political power and the privileges that come with great personal wealth.
The Treasures of Tutankhamun is an exhibition by Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
