Auto Impound Pad Site
Auto Impound pad site is located at 3010 Hard Rock Rd. Grand Prairie, TX 75050 and is operated by GHA Barnett, LLC. A total of 3 wells were drilled in 2017. Hydraulic fracturing of these wells began December 1st, 2017 and is expected to last approximately 6 weeks. Fracturing of gas wells includes pumping large quantities of fluids at high pressures into the targeted rock formation to stimulate the flow of natural gas. This process may generate temporary odors or low vibrations from the operation of multiple diesel engines. Fracturing is only permitted during daytime hours and is subject to noise restrictions and abatement measures dictated by Grand Prairie’s Gas Drilling and Production ordinance.
After hydraulic fracturing, completion operations will begin. Completion activities include well maintenance, flowback, and equipment installation. These processes should produce minimal noise and no odor.
Information on these processes can be found in the “Gas Drilling” tab under “Phases of Exploring and Producing Natural Gas in the Barnett Shale”. For questions and concerns, please contact the City of Grand Prairie Environmental Services Department at 972-237-8055.
One Prime Pad Site
One Prime pad site is located at 1044 Santerre Dr, Grand Prairie, Texas 75050 and is operated by GHA Barnett, LLC. Drilling began August 4, 2017 and concluded September 28, 2017. A total of 3 wells were drilled on the pad site.
Hydraulic fracturing concluded at the One Prime pad site on November 30, 2017. Flowback operations will commence on December 1, 2017 and last approximately 30 days. Flowback consists of servicing the recently fractured wells, collecting the fracture fluids that return to the surface from the wellbore, and disposing of the fluid until the well can be put back into everyday production. No odor should be produced and minimal noise should occur from semi-trucks arriving on site to collect and dispose of the fracturing fluid.
Information on these processes can be found in the “Gas Drilling” tab under “Phases of Exploring and Producing Natural Gas in the Barnett Shale”. For questions or concerns, please contact the City of Grand Prairie Environmental Services Department at 972-237-8055.
