Texas Stream Team

Texas Stream Team logoTexas Stream Team is a state-wide volunteer stream monitoring program. The program is sponsored by a partnership between the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Texas State University. For more information on getting involved in the Texas Watch Program, call 972-237-8055. Water quality is closely linked to air, land and human concerns. The protection of air, water, land and humans requires the cooperative participation of all Texans. Environmental Services is currently looking for more groups or individuals to become volunteer monitors to this important program.

KGPB Programs that may be of interest:

Adopt-a-Street/Adopt-a-Stream/Adopt-a-Wetland: These programs are easy, fun, and perfect for individuals, businesses, churches, clubs, schools and organizations. The idea is simple: groups or individuals agree to adopt a street, stream, or wetland and take responsibility for keeping it clean.

Clean and Beautiful Neighborhood: Participate in a Clean & Beautiful Neighborhood Sub-committee with your neighborhood association! Activities may include stream and/or wetland cleanups or tree planting projects.

Green and Clean Campus: If your school is interested in developing an environmentally friendly club or organization, let the City of Grand Prairie help!

Clean Company: Does your company want to become more environmentally aware? Join the Clean Company Program to participate in litter prevention and cleanup programs!

Youth Environmental Action (YEA!): Youth for Environmental Action is a high school environmental education and leadership program designed to inspire, educate, and take action on environmental issues facing our community.

Great American Cleanup: Participate in one of the nation’s biggest community clean-up and beautification projects!
