Police Pup Wednesday

blanco

Officer Bodner got to meet our resident gentleman, Blanco (A139194) before starting her shift. Blanco is a 7 year old, Chihuahua mix. He has been looking for a place to call his own since December 21st 2016. Blanco was pretty scared when he came to the shelter, but with a little understanding, some patience and a lot of love, thanks to our great staff, he’s come around! He really enjoys being with other small dogs, but is a little wary of big guys. He loves treats, and lives for cuddle time. He’d thrive better in a home with no, or older children. He would be the perfect lap dog for someone who just wants a low key, low energy dog.

Firefighter Friday

icicle

Well howdy there! Icicle (A148650) here. I just wanted to show off this super cute picture of me and my friend Firefighter Underhill over at Station 1. I’m a young lady at 1 year and 8 months old. I love to play, and especially with other dogs! I haven’t met a pup I haven’t liked. I’m a 2 time winner of softest ears in the whole shelter! I can do tricks, like sit, but only when you give me an incentive (treats, I love treats… lots of treats!).I love going for aimless car rides, and call shotgun! I look black, but if you take me out in the sun I’m really a beautiful mix of brown and black. I’ve been looking for someone to call mine since November 29th 2016. Are you my person?

Cat of the Week

elv 320

Elvira (A147384) is a 2-year old female. She is a black, domestic short haired. She is altered. Elvira arrived at Prairie Paws as a stray on October 13th, 2016. Why hello there, you already know my name but what you don't know and need to, is that I am fabulous. I am not only gorgeous to look at, but I do not demand a lot of attention. I like to hang out and come to you when I feel like it. I do allow you to dress me up in silly things from time to time (just look at my picture). In the catbook I was nominated for best eyes in our whole school. Hey now, you could have a real winner on your hands with me! If you would like to visit with Elvira, stop by the shelter during regular business hours! Elvira's adoption fee has been reduced this week to $10.00!

Staff Pick

dustin

Officer Jensen is no stranger to helping animals as she has been compassionately working as an Animal Services Officer for longer than she wants us to admit on social media!

Over the course of Officer Jensen's career, she has been a wonderful steward for the animals and is passionate about educating the public and often goes above and beyond to help not just the animals but the people that are caring for the animals. Officer Jensen has been a wonderful addition to our team since she began here in 2014!

Officer Jensen’s pick this week is Dustin (A148413)! He is an almost 2 year old pit mix. He is neutered and current on his vaccinations. He came in as a stray on November 19th 2016 and has been looking for a permanent couch to crash on ever since. He’s a gentle and shy sweet boy, who loves being hand fed treats, playing with his buddies, and back scratches.
