Spring cleaning is made easy for Grand Prairie residents! The city offers the following events:

Trash Off – Unlimited Landfill Visits

Grand Prairie residents will be allowed unlimited trips to the Grand Prairie Landfill. Proof of residence is required. Trash Off is a great way to dispose of those bulky items that won't fit in the garbage!

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events

Safely dispose of household hazardous waste (such as aerosol cans, auto fluids, batteries, cleaning supplies, cooking oil, etc.) at one of the city's free collection events. Registration is required. Register online or call 972-237-8055.

Electronics Recycling

The City of Grand Prairie offers free electronics recycling events throughout the year. Electronic waste can also be disposed of at the landfill any day during regular operating hours. Registration is not required; proof of Grand Prairie residence in the form of a drivers license or water bill required.

Shred-It Day: Shred Documents

Safely shred your sensitive documents. 

Date: Saturday, April 22, 2017

Time: 8 a.m.–11 a.m.

Location: in the parking area between The Summit (2975 Esplanade) and Public Safety Building (1525 Arkansas Ln.)

Cost: $5 per box or $10 for three boxes

Box size: standard office size (approximately 18x11x9-inch)

No commercial trucks or trailers (U-Haul)

No plastic bags.

Arrive early. Event ends at 11 a.m. or when the truck is full.

All proceeds benefit the Grand Prairie Crime Commission Inc. non-profit 501c3.

Garage Sales

If planning to have a garage sale, remember to apply for a garage sale permit. Fill out the Garage Sale Permit application online or stop by the Code Compliance office, 206 W. Church St., to fill out paperwork.
