Grand Prairie celebrates Cinco De Mayo with a parade, entertainment, festival foods, art contest, and other activities on Saturday, May 6, 2017.
The parade beings at 10 a.m. at 1405 Main Street near Graff Chevrolet and ends at Grand Prairie City Hall, 317 College St. Free entertainment is noon to 6 p.m. including Grand Prairie ISD performers, mariachi bands, folkloric dancers and vocalists, Tex-Mex festival foods, bounce houses, an art contest and more.
Since 1987 the Cinco de Mayo committee in conjunction with GPISD, City of Grand Prairie, and other community businesses and organizations have worked together to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.
Funds raised support scholarships for graduating GPISD seniors.
