The Summer Reading Challenge starts June 2. All Grand Prairie Libraries offer a summer reading program for any age - child, teen, or adult. Read throughout the summer for your chance to win coupon and gift card prizes.
Registration begins June 2, and continues through the summer.

Children's Programs
Afterschool Fun We offer stories and activities for schoolaged children on Thursdays at 4:30. We will not meet on May 22 or 29.
Storytime We offer a morning storytime on Thursdays at 10:30 am (please note that the Library itself is not open at this time).

part of their "Reading with Ringling Bros" summer program for kids. When kids join the library's Summer Reading Challenge, they can earn a FREE Ringling Bros. circus ticket as they read.

Jubilee Jamboree 2008 is the 50th anniversary of the Texas State Library's Summer Reading Club. At our Jubilee Jamboree, we'll celebrate by taking a trip down memory lane by exploring the fun and fads of past decades. Kids of all ages can join us learn the Twist, play Twister, master the Rubik's Cube, and more.
Shirley Duke Smith A former teacher of science, English and ESL, Shirley now writes for children of all ages. No Bows! is her first picture book, a story for toddlers about a little girl with her own ideas about what she wants.

Teen Programs
NEW New to our database lineup is Teen Health and Wellness. Besides researched and informative article, TH&W includes personal stories by real teens, Ask Dr. Jan, polls, and as In the News column. Teen Health and Wellness: Real Life, Real Answers is a comprehensive database that allows teens (and those who care about teens) to research health-related issues important to their well-being. It’s both a research/report tool and a self-help resource. Call 972-237-5701 for your login and password (this service is limited to library cardholders, but cards are free).
The Summer Reading Challenge begins June 2 and continues until July 27. Earn a shot at a weekly or Grand Prize by picking up a reading log at the Circulation Desk, and having it stamped as you finish books. When you turn in your log after 8 hours of reading or listening to audiobooks, your log become your entry form.
