Wildlife Parkway Improvements Set to Begin in 2018
Plans to improve Wildlife Parkway in north Grand Prairie are underway in order to ease traffic congestion and open the area for more use.
This 1.8-mile long project will widen existing Wildlife Parkway to four lanes from Belt Line Road to Hardrock Road and will extend the road across the Trinity River to connect to SH 161.
The Wildlife Parkway Project includes:
- Four lanes of new pavement
- New bridge over the west fork of the Trinity River
- Connection between Good Link Trail and the future Ruthe Jackson Trail
- Traffic signal improvements, new lighting and sidewalks
Financing includes $7.4 million funded by the City of Grand Prairie and the rest of the financing provided by Dallas County and the North Central Texas Council of Governments.
Construction is set to begin in 2018 and expected to be complete in early 2021.
