Fireworks and family fun at Lone Stars & Stripes Celebration at Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie

In observance of Independence Day, the city of Grand Prairie will celebrate with a fireworks display at Lone Star Park (Lone Stars & Stripes Celebration) on Monday, July 3, and Tuesday, July 4, at approximately 10 p.m.

The Texas AirHogs will play the SaltDogs on July 3 and July 4. Fans can stay at the ballpark (1600 Lone Star Parkway) after the game and watch the Lone Star Park fireworks.

There will be no fireworks display at Lynn Creek Park.

City Services Schedule

City of Grand Prairie administrative offices will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Independence Day holiday hours for other city services are as follows:

Garbage Collection/Recycling – No garbage and recycling pick up on Tuesday, July 4. Please put garbage and recycling out on your next scheduled collection day.

Landfill – Closed

Grand Prairie Libraries – Closed Tuesday, July 4. Book drops are available at all libraries for the return of items after hours. You may renew items online or by phone at 972-237-5700 during Main Library hours.

Water bill payment offices – Closed Tuesday, July 4 (You may pay water bill online)

Charley Taylor, Tony Shotwell and Dalworth Recreation Centers – Closed Tuesday, July 4.

The Summit 50+ Adult Activity Center – Closed Tuesday, July 4.

Prairie Lakes Golf Course – Open

Tangle Ridge Golf Club – Open

Lynn Creek Park – Open 6 a.m.-10 p.m.

Loyd Park – Open 6 a.m.-10 p.m.

Kirby Creek Indoor & Outdoor Pool – Open 1 p.m.-6 p.m.

McFalls and Bowles Pools and Splash Factory Water Playground – Open 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Tyre Pool – Open 1 p.m.-6 p.m.

Animal Shelter – Closed Monday, July 3, and Tuesday, July 4.

Municipal Court – Closed

Tourist Information Center – Closed
