Have yourself a DIY Summer, with free craft and creative programs for teens and adults at the Grand Prairie Libraries. All classes are free, although some require registration. For a complete listing of library events, pick up an event guide, or view one online at our webpage.

Teens in Grades 6-12

All programs begin at 3:30 p.m. No registration required for teen programs.

8-bit Art: Lightsabers

Are you a Jedi or a Sith Lord? Show off your allegiance and create an 8Bit Art keychain in the shape of a light saber.

String Art
Warmack Library: August 8

Create a piece of string art to take home with you during this teen craft program.

For adults 18 and up

Cookie Decorating. 6 p.m. at the Warmack Library on June 15. Come try something new and learn the basics of cookie decorating. Registration required. Please email kolabode@gptx.org.

Ready for the 4th. 11 a.m. at the Warmack Library on June 17. Make a 4th of July inspired craft. Part of the Saturday Morning Pinterest Club series. Registration required. Please email ahobson@gptx.org.

Floral Crown Making. 6:30 p.m. at the Warmack Library on July 20. This class teaches the basics on how to make your own floral crown. Registration required. Please email kolabode@gptx.org.

Memory Magic Scrapbooking. 11 a.m. at the Warmack Library on August 19. Share tips and tricks for scrapbooking. Some materials provided. Part of the Saturday Morning Pinterest Club series. Registration required. Please email ahobson@gptx.org.

The Second Saturday Stitchers meet from 9 a.m. to noon at the Warmack Library on the second Saturday of each month. Needle workers meet to craft and socialize: Bring your stitching project. Open to quilters, knitters, crocheters, cross-stitchers, etc. Tables available for sewing machines or quilt basting, as space allows.
