The North Central Texas Trauma Regional Advisory Council (NCTTRAC) presented the Grand Prairie Fire Department with the HEART Safe Community Award for its cardiac commitment to the citizens and visitors of Grand Prairie. The community as a whole was recognized for its ease of access to pre-hospital emergency care, response of emergency first responders, public placement of Automatic External Defibrillators, citizen CPR training, Public Health Initiatives and dedicated cardiac care at local hospitals. Grand Prairie is the 5th city in Texas to be designated as a "Heart Safe Community." Thanks to all of the organizations that participated in this effort!
